Our Concept for Earthquake-Proof Rebuilding

Report from the Nepal project trip of our Chairman – 6

To push on with our rebuilding projects in Nepal, chairman Dr. Martin Kasper travelled into the project region last week. We report on Facebook and on the website for all friends of Nepal and Children-of-Bhandar every now and then about the experiences and results of the journey.

Today: Our concept for earthquake-proof rebuilding

Instead of traditional construction methods with simple stone walls, we use readymade, earthquake-proof components. They are cheap, safe, generate jobs and can be built quickly. Instead of dark, cold and narrow rooms we build bright, warm and friendly classrooms. That also allows for modern, group-centered pedagogical methods – well suitable for the small learning groups in Nepal’s mountains.
