The worldwide quotas for school enrolment have improved, but still there are more than 250 million adolescents without a basic education – who can neither read nor write. We give them a second chance.

In our 225 evening schools, 13 to 20-year-olds have the chance to catch up on basic education. The conditions are spare, the facilities often cramped. But standardized tests show that our students learn a lot more than the average public school student. This week, I had the chance to convince myself once more – at a school in Bengtol. Impressive!
